The Dentist and Covid19

Last Thursday I had an appointment for a cleaning at the Dentist.

I was told to arrive 30 minutes before my appointment.

Temperature checked, and, hand sanitized on my way in, I, was given three forms to fill out.

Hmmm Drivers License number?

Blood Pressure Reading?

Whole medical history?

Eating habits?

Disclaimer for Covid...

Understanding my risks...

I'm wearing a mask since I left my vehicle. Staff is all masked up. As I sit down to go over these forms, I, notice a Father with two girls, aged maybe 12-14, none of them wearing masks.

Another man and his daughter come in. They are wearing masks, but then decide to remove them. His daughter is maybe 3 or 4. She is climbing all over the chair, trying to get comfortable, her mask is on the floor and now she is stepping on it.

I felt nervous. Very nervous. I wanted to leave.

For the most part, on the forms, I, just put "ON FILE" as I have been going there for years.

I quickly get my cleaning done.

Over the weekend I develop a sore throat. Great!!!

Monday, I call work, let them know I'm sick. Do the online assessment with Alberta Health Services and book an appointment for the same day in the afternoon.

Illness progresses.

Wednesday I get my results, Negative, thank God, but, I'm still sick.

Thursday, I'm, violently coughing.

Friday, still sick, woke up with brutal headache and sore throat. Liquids.... Liquids... Sleep....

Would I like to book another appointment? Ummmm, I,  will give you a call back.....
